Review: Missha Soft Blending Stick Blusher- #5 Mud Brown

Hey friends! It's been so long since I've done a review, so let's just get right into it. 

So, I first found Missha's Soft Blending Sticks when I was browsing through the new products section of Beautynet Korea, which is my go-to online shop for my makeup. I feel as if contouring and bronzers aren't super big in Korea which intrigued me when I saw that this advertised blush product came in a dark enough shade for some contouring; this definitely excited me!

The cream sticks remind me of the NARS multiples but at such a cheaper price of around $12.

The product is housed in a sleek matte stick with a top and bottom end: one for the product itself and the other for a dense blending brush that reminds me of a kabuki/stippling.

The product is creamy and smells nice at first sniff- but it also kind of smells slightly of glue which is kind of really off-putting. Nothing too serious though, from what I can tell. I either can't smell it from my cheekbones after application or I just get used to the smell.

 

Upon first swatch the cream bronzer has a slight sheen to it- though it's not shimmery or like a highlighter at all. The sheen I believe, is from it's 'blusher' concept as it is a cream product and should have slight moisturizing properties. I also think that the shade is quite nice and adequate for what it is, I wish it would've been a little darker though. I do usually take shade #23/natural beiges in Korean base makeup and I think this works for me. 

The color is a little orange at first, but the one thing that I'm not happy about this product though, is how well it blends. It's almost so slippery and so easy to blend that the product either disappears off my cheeks or gets transferred onto the blending brush. So, it being a little orange in the first place really isn't a problem at all. Whenever I choose to wear this bronzer I always use my fingers to blend as I think it's the best way to leave product on my face. I also always set this contour with a powder bronzer to really make sure it stays in place. Which kind of defeats the purpose of having to use this in the first place, I suppose.

Overall, I wouldn't repurchase this, but I will use it up since it doesn't break me out or cause any skin rashes or anything like that. I think the price is decent for what it is, and it also comes with a really good quality brush which I can see myself using for other purposes.

An Update

Hey friends, it's been a really long while, hey? This post is kind of a long one, I apologize!

Some of you know that I finished my first year of university not too long ago, and it was definitely an experience. Not only did it have me questioning what I want to essentially do for the rest of my life, but it also had me wondering about what I'm doing with my life right now. 

I know I've been a slacker with blogging lately, and the only explanation I have for that is because people change and grow, and so do their interests. I still love Asian/Korean makeup and skincare- hell, it still makes up 99.3% of my beauty arsenal, but it's just that honestly I don't have the income to be constantly buying products that I have no real interest in trying. You guys know that I've always been more of a face-makeup/skincare type of gal, and it's especially difficult with shade matching and whether or not products will break my sensitive skin out or not. Plus, at this point in my life right now, my routine is pretty solid, and while I do wonder of different brands and of new products, I still have a lot of things to finish up. Over the last few months I've definitely cut my beauty collection in what seems more than a half, but there's still a lot to go through so hoarding new product when I don't really need anything seems just a little bit wasteful to me and my lifestyle right now.

The last few weeks have kind of been weird and have required me to do a lot of thinking in terms of me. People always say that high school is the time where you discover yourself, and while I find that pretty untrue, I thought that university was the time where I'd be learning more about myself. And that's pretty much a lie too because shit, I had time for nothing during those eight months.

I guess I'm trying to say that I'm in this like, rebranding process where I'm working on shaping me and my thoughts and my interests and what I want to do. I want to say that I'll still do the occasional beauty post, but I really don't want to make any empty promises. I don't really know if this blog will even experience any big changes, or if I'll frequent it enough and bother to even make posts. But if I do, my genre of just being beauty, so very specifically Korean beauty, probably won't exist and I'll probably be doing a lot more lifestyle. Who knows though, I could be lying and get straight back into k-cosmetics asap hahaha.

I know my following isn't very big, so I'd just like to thank the wonderful individuals who have emailed, commented, or even just regularly checked up on this blog. You all are so very patient and so sweet. Thank you for everything!
